From Payroll Specialist to Full Advisory Partner
LBD Consultants (formerly LBD Payroll and Business Specialists) is a South African labour and human capital advisory practice built for employers who can’t afford to treat compliance as an afterthought. We work with IT companies, engineering firms, Skills Development Providers, and training companies, businesses where technical or project-based teams create constant, high-stakes obligations around labour law, payroll, skills development, and employment equity.
We started as a payroll specialist. We’ve grown into something broader: a single advisory partner covering nine specialist divisions, from Labour Law (led by an Advocate) through to HR, Payroll, Bookkeeping and Accounting, Skills Development Facilitation, Employment Equity, Training, and Special Research and Projects. Every division reports directly to our Managing Director, so nothing gets lost between departments and nothing falls through the cracks between service providers.

Most businesses end up stitching together a law firm for disputes, a bureau for payroll, a bookkeeper for the books, and a separate consultant for employment equity. Each one works from a different slice of your data and none of them talk to each other.
We built LBD Consultants the other way round. Our divisions share information constantly: a CCMA dispute touches both Labour Law and HR, a Workplace Skills Plan draws on Payroll data, and your bookkeeping records feed directly into Employment Equity income differential analysis. That means faster answers, fewer gaps, and one team that actually understands the full picture of your business.
